When Tacoma Washington asks us to come in to help fill in positive activites for students, CR was ready with programs in 7 schools and community centers.
In a 2015 report, CR's methodology was recognized as a 'Promising Practice' for math outcomes for Africa American students. Ten years later flowers continue to bloom.
Making Math and science fun for students by finding it in everyday life and bringing those experiences in to the classroom.
community matters
We believe community organizations and industry partners are key to expanding resources and opportunities for our students. Our science industry partners to provide expertise, and mentorship that improve outcomes for students.
we take all students seriously
Whether you're an educator, a parent, or someone who cares about education, we are all acutely aware of the gaps traditional methods miss. Sometimes the problem has an obvious cause–students did not study enough. But more often than not, the causes are not so straight forward. Instructors and students do their best when they can experiment and try something new, if something old doesn't work. We improve student learning by starting with student engagement. From there, every child can grow every day.
Math and science competency is based on a graduated set of skills that can be taught to any student. We combine fun and engaging activities with a 'real-life' practical application of math and science in a way that allows students to retain what they know and apply that knowledge to new and different situations. We believe one way to realize this vision is through the creation of lifelong learners of science and math by way of sustainable career pathways for underserved transitional-aged youth and adults and finding opportunities in STEM-related sectors.
