Educators & Academics

There's this other stuff that's above and beyond standards instruction. That’s why I appreciate what Calculus Roundtable does with coding in particular because it expands the student’s understanding of how mathematics,  science and technology is integrated and works in the world. They go beyond a regimented scripted lesson. It’s a more personalized approach based on the Big idea, what are we trying to learn and how can we use it? CR is able to expand the child's understanding about how to think mathematically or how to think scientifically.  It's a huge win for any STEM initiative.

I was impressed with the work you are doing in Native and Indigenous communities and how you bring forth the love of learning beside thee understanding of one's cultural connection to the subject.

I had the pleasure of presenting with CR at the California STEM Symposium. What an honor to be asked to contribute to such an impactful session as a panelist. Sometimes you don't realize how much your 'STEM story' can mean and how many others have lived a similar one.

CR is changing what educators previously thought impossible, including culture and identity into mathematics instruction.

CR is giving kids joy, giving them context, and a deeper understanding of the concepts they're learning in. It made a difference in their academic scores.

Your commitment to expanding access to culturally relevant, high-quality STEM education is truly inspiring. Your high-quality STEM programs are increasing access to higher-level math and science education for Black and Brown students in the Bay Area, helping close opportunity gaps and build pathways to the STEM workforce. We’re also happy to see your work continues to be recognized by the State Department of Education, it’s well deserved.

My son has been a part of CR events and classes since the 2nd grade. When we moved from his original school CR moved along with us summer camps and 1:1 tutoring from his new district. CR is a blessing to me and our family.

I am so happy we attended the Bay Area Black Youth Techathon in San Jose. My daughter loves science. Its great to have a free event with this many real opportunity to rub elbows with real STEM professionals who look like her and in our own community.

I met up with CR only recently and found some direct connections to my dissertation which was centered around broadening access, participation and experience of students who are underserved in Computer Science. Looking forward to our paths continuing to cross as we spread important messages and provide actionable ways to make a difference.
