to Bring Competitive STEM Learning to Students

Daly City, CA — April, 2026

Calculus Roundtable is proud to announce the continued success of its innovative “Automobile of the Future” course at Jefferson High School—a hands-on STEM experience where students design, test, and imagine the next generation of transportation.

Throughout the school year, students have engaged in a series of interactive projects exploring how cars of the future might function. From designing intelligent dashboards and experimenting with battery systems to developing concepts for traffic-responsive braking systems and energy-efficient tools, students are applying math, engineering, and creativity to real-world challenges.

A highlight of the course comes this April with a special guest appearance by Danny Yee, one of the most celebrated figures in automotive design at Ford Motor Company. On April 14, Yee will visit Jefferson High School to lead an immersive session, offering students rare insight into the design process behind modern vehicles and the future of mobility.

The experience will extend beyond the classroom. On April 16, students will visit the Ford Design Center, where Yee will continue the learning experience in a professional design environment—bridging classroom innovation with industry practice.

This course is about making the future real for students. When young people can sit with a designer like Danny Yee and then step into a world-class design center, they begin to see themselves not just as students—but as creators, engineers, and innovators.
Jim Hollis
Executive Director of Calculus Roundtable.
The course is led in partnership with Jefferson High School teacher Kristen Ashford, with support from Calculus Roundtable instructors Melinda Chan, Makaylah Chan-Welch, and Leif Bridges, with additional engagement from board leadership.

Visitors attending the April 14 session are asked to check in at the main office (located opposite visitor parking) upon arrival at Jefferson High School.
