Research

HOME > OUR IMPACT > RESEARCH

Research provides an important long-run perspective on the issues in education we face today and in the future. It is, what Zora Neale Hurston once called, "formalized curiosity".

The Vertical Model

When Calculus Roundtable began, we made a bold promise: to create vertical education organization, preparing 20th century schools for 21st Century students. We improve outcomes for individual students by preparing the entire institutions for success. Part of building that system is in being involved with the research involved in informing institutions of education both at the district and the state levels.

Interactive Education Research Projects

Project 1

Commissioned by Ed Trust West, a data visualization measuring the gap between students of color and teachers of color, in California counties.

Project 2

For the Office of African American Achievement in the West Contra Costa Unified School District shows where black students are and what were their math scores on standardized tests.

Project 3

For our annual 'Best school results for African American Students' Report shows math scores for African American students by Bay Area County.

Education Trust West

Conducted analytical research with multiple reference points in subjects accommodating students and teachers of color. We helped the research giant build on a body of knowledge what we learn from the data and research by hearing from students and schools about what’s working and what’s not.

SB1070

College and Career Readiness: CR with Contra Costa College incubated a series of integrated K-14 pathways with West Contra Costa and other regional K-12 partners. By 2013 this included development of integrated pathway and research around the Bay.
