Calculus Roundtable > Home
The Calculus Roundtable promotes the innovation and discovery of higher level math and other academic areas among under-represented students. We do this by making higher level math and other subjects more accessible, culturally relevant and current through professional development modules and 21st Century online tools, curriculum products and strategies for schools, teachers, and students.
1. Identify and develop new pathways to higher level math, so that young people can connect their current life experiences to real world opportunities that utilize higher level math. We aim to increase their understanding of why higher level math is important in their lives.
2. Provide virtual professional development modules for teachers aligned to Common Core standards, which incorporate 21st Century skills and culturally relevant, blended learning. Ensure a strong focus on best practices and on high quality, high level math instruction.
Integrate calculus concepts into math and non-math curriculum and a variety of experiential opportunities.
3. Make customized online tools and cloud-based technologies available to school districts and teachers to help them overcome the intense data management challenges related to implementing the Common Core, and to help them create lessons plans and curriculum that integrate 21st century skills and opportunities.
4. Identify and recommend policies, best practices and partners that provide alternative discipline policies and approaches.
