We serve a wide range of education clients spanning school systems, state agencies , and educational research and philanthropic foundations. Although small, our work spans hundreds of projects in over 60 districts.
Across all of our projects, we focus on helping clients deliver substantial and lasting improvements in student outcomes for all children and with a special emphasis on children of color.We support clients on multi-year journeys to improve education system performance. Our teams rigorously diagnose current system performance and identify the highest-impact opportunities for change. We then support our clients in the design of improvement strategies that are appropriate to their system context, followed by the implementation of this strategy at scale and speed across the system.
Throughout, we focus on building the capabilities of system and school leaders so they have the skills and support they need to deliver substantial and lasting improvements in student success. At any time, we have team members working on education projects around the country and a dedicated army of volunteer mentors, many of whom have previously served as teachers, policy makers, institutional leaders, researchers, and education entrepreneurs.

The Calculus Roundtable has just completed a comprehensive evaluation of technology use in Special Education classroom, the largest study of its kind in California. Our data team conducted classroom observations in 172 classrooms across 10 districts in Santa Clara county. The study has lent new insights and understanding about technology that influences purchasing decisions, professional development training and pedagogy it self.

DORS builds its first Waldorf inspired Project based activity. In collaboration with CSCE and Dr. Ida Oberman, The Calculus Roundtable helping 3rd - 8th grade Waldorf students, build not only a solar powered watering system for their urban garden, but a solar power company as well, inspiring kids to think beyond the lemonade stand. Along with project partner's, Attitudinal Healing, a mural and iron statute will be created recognizing the contributions cultures like the Mayans and Aztecs had on modern sciences.
OpenDORS The Digital One Room Schoolhouse is an innovative project based learning program centered around students accomplishment and includes families as vital part of the successful student. open DORS connects students from 2nd grade to 12th, all working together to learn a skill and affect change in their communities and across the world. Students from Los Angeles, San Jose, Oakland, Richmond California and Ferguson, MO work collaboratively with students in Hong Kong, Tanzania on better sustainable living through Math and Science. Students work with NGO's, Public Utilities, major University science labs and engineers and programmers from all over the world to solve some of the planet's most vexing issues. Setting the Standard for Millions Calculus Roundtable serves as Regional Data Coordinator for the Career Technical Pathways Program (CTE) program for Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. From a grant administered by the North/EastBay Sb1070 Consortium, we coordinate the efforts of 14 community colleges and 18 K-12 school districts in Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, Solano and Sonoma Counties. The Consortium goal is to build a regional community of practice that increases successful transition of high school students into college. We align the systems and policies of colleges and high schools to make this a reality; building better certificate and degree programs aligned to the student's career interests. and to high wage/high growth career pathways in the greater Bay Region. From Last to First Calculus Roundtable and Amazon Education Bring World Class Math Curriculum to East LA with Miraculous Results Jefferson scored among the lowest on the state API for several years in a row. The situation was so bad the students themselves walked out in protest. In partnership with Amazon Education and TenMarks Software, we we're brought in with our Large School Instructional Strategy to coach math teachers and motivate students. Several weeks and thousands of rigorous algebra problems later, one of our classes won 'Most Improved High School Class' in Amazon's Math Madness challenge among 40,000 schools across the country. Digital Teen Learning Center San Jose Public Library
Developing a Team of Young Designers Project Based Learning Projects in Real Time The Calculus Roundtable works with the San Jose Public Library on a major redesign of the mezzanine floor, all 4460 sq ft. into a center dedicated to teen learning. After researching some of the most innovative library centers around the world, we brought together teens from several schools and districts in close proximity to the downtown branch to create a real-time, project based learning activity. Cohort 6 takes 32 students through the design process of creating the new center. Students conduct research, meet with the architects, officials from the Tech Museum and San Jose State University , giving the students a once in a life time chance to leave their mark on the cityscape for years to come. Expanding Math for Children of Color In Silicon Valley Expanding Educational Opportunities for Children of Color in 9 Bay Area Districts We are working with "one of the most innovative districts in the nation" to build a teacher evaluation system that measures teachers impact on student learning while giving the teachers the resources and templates they need to 'move the needle' on what was once seen as 'hard to reach' kids.
